Wilsonton can be found just 5 kilometres west of Toowoomba's central business district. Wilsonton was amended in 2006 after Wilsonton Heights was declared as a separate suburb. The suburb's major street is Bridge Street. The suburb contains two State Primary schools and one Catholic Primary school; and they are: Wilsonton State School, Fairview Heights State School, and Sacred Heart Primary School.
